Youth Activities...

We take great pride in providing youth activities for our community. Every year, we grant scholarships to graduating seniors in hopes that our support will help them realize their dreams.

Youth Leadership Conference

Montgomery CFB sponsored Rylan Moss to this year's Youth Leadership Conference. He joined more than 275 high school juniors and seniors from over 150 counties across the state.

During the weeklong event, students discuss topics such as the free enterprise system, constitutional government, Americanism, leadership and goal setting. Students are encouraged to meet with school and civic groups upon their return home to share what they’ve learned.

Students who complete the Youth Leadership Conference and have given a speech on free enterprise to at least five groups will have taken the first step toward qualifying for the Free Enterprise Speech contest, which awards more than $19,000 in scholarships.

Demi Dee Dean

Mason Parish

Kelsey Doty

Caleb Weinzettle

Demi Dee Dean graduated from Conroe High School, earning Summa Cum Laude, Advanced Placement Scholar, Mu Alpha Theta, National Mathematic Honor Society, National Honor Society, and President’s Award for Educational Excellence.

"What started as one show goat, led to a small herd, and now a breeding operation. I found that a goat was one of the best projects to start off with because it was fairly easy to raise and handle, but still allowed you to really become involved in the livestock industry. After raising and showing goats, lambs, rabbits, and a heifer, I have found that I want agriculture to always be a part of my life, " Demi said of her passion for agriculture.

Demi attends Texas A&M University and is studying Agricultural Engineering. After receiving her Bachelor's degree, she plans to attend law school to study Agricultural Law. Following college, Demi wants to return to Montgomery County, start a career, enter politics, and become involved in community activities.

Mason Parish is a graduate from Caney Creek High School, graduating seventh in his class. He was involved with many programs which developed his leadership skills and his education. He has been a member of the Cut-N-Shoot 4-H for ten years, where he has served as president and as a project leader. Other leadership roles include serving as a National Junior Santa Gertrudis director, Texas Beef Leader of Tomorrow, Weisner Student Advisory Board member and DECA treasurer. He was also a member of Leo Club, National Honor Society, and the American Rabbit Breeders Association.

"Once I entered high school, I found my true passion for the agriculture industry through FFA. After joining this organization, I was elected to serve in many leadership roles, including chapter president, district reporter and Area III vice president. I was elected to serve the state as a Texas FFA state officer. Through FFA, I have been able to travel to FFA chapters across the area to speak about leadership and the importance of the agriculture industry," Mason said.

Mason is attending Texas A&M University as an Agriculture Economics major. He then plans to attend law school and later enter our nation’s political arena as an advocate for the agriculture industry and small business owners.

Kelsey Doty graduated from Montgomery High School in 2005 and entered Texas A&M University in the fall of 2005.  Kelsey graduated from Texas A&M in May 2009 with a BS in Biomedical Sciences and graduated Cum Laude.

"I am currently a member of the Class of 2013 in veterinary school at Texas A&M University, and started my third year in August. I hope to be a mixed animal practitioner when I graduate in May 2013," Kelsey said.

Caleb Weinzettle graduated from Conroe High School.  He was involved in the Science Academy and the National Honor Society. Caleb has been a member of 4-H for 10 years.

"I have enjoyed my 4-H experience and developed many new skills that will carry me through life. Thanks for the scholarship! It will be a blessing as I attend Texas A&M University. I am looking forward to the next chapter of my life as I begin college. I will be in the Fightin' Texas A&M Band. I have a full schedule and am undecided on my major at this time so I am keeping my options open.  I am a strong student and I know I will succeed and you will be proud.  Gig 'Em and God Bless," said Caleb.
