Small rural business owners are invited to attend seminars hosted by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service in Potter County from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. May 21-22 at the Amarillo College Business and Industry Center, 1314 S. Polk Street.
Both seminars will outline tools and best practices for small rural business owners either in the established or early stages of business. Dr. Greg Clary, Texas AgriLife Extension Service economist in College Station, will present both seminars.
“Facing the Challenges of Growing a Small Business” will be on May 21, with the following topics:

• Building on a Solid Foundation
• Planning for Success
• Turning Challenges into Opportunities
• Alternative Sound Growth Strategies
• Bootstrapping and Capitalizing Growth
• E-commerce as a Tool for Growth
• Possible Exit or Succession Strategies
“Generating Income with Rural Property and Natural Resources” on May 22 will feature the following topics:
• Generating and Evaluating Ideas and Opportunities
• Planning for Success
• Managing Operations is Key to Success
• Bootstrap Marketing
• Accounting and Financial Management Tell the Story
• Sources of Information and Assistance: Internet Offers Valuable Tools
• Handling Successes…Failures
Participants are encouraged to register for one or both seminars. Registration is $40 for one or $75 for both.
