S.M. True Jr., former Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) president and a Texas agriculture legend, died Tuesday at the age of 88. True passed away Tuesday morning while working on his Hale County farm.
“We’ve lost one of the giants in the history of Texas agriculture,” said Kenneth Dierschke, current TFB president. “He had a unique ability to bring people together and work out consensus on the most controversial of issues.”
Services for True will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at the First United Methodist Church in Plainview.
