Farmers and ranchers are urging Americans to join an “Ag Pizza Party” to thank Domino’s Pizza for denying a request by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to require its suppliers to discontinue use of gestation crates in pork production.
HSUS and other animal activist organizations have urged restaurants to ban the use of gestation crates by their suppliers. Many restaurants—including McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Denny’s—have succumbed to activist pressure.
Domino’s Pizza supporters formed the virtual pizza party through a group on Facebook, which invites Americans to support their local restaurant the weekend of May 19. The Facebook group also has fliers that can be printed to invite others to join in.
