The Texas AgriLife Extension Service is set to host a range and herd health workshop on June 7 in Mason.
“This workshop is meant to educate area ranchers and the community on range and pasture improvement and the different options they have to manage their properties and livestock,” said Tyler Bobinmyer, Texas AgriLife Extension agent in Mason County. “With the dry conditions we all suffered through last year, it’s vital that ranchers and landowners understand the options they have available to help them become better land stewards and stockmen.”
The workshop’s speakers will be Drs. Bob Lyons and Rick Machen, Texas AgriLife Extension range and livestock specialists, respectively, from Uvalde; Matt Kast, U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service, Mason; Christy Keeler, Merck Animal Health, San Antonio; and Zane Willard, Alligare LLC, San Angelo.
