The House Agriculture Committee sent an announcement to agriculture groups this week regarding consideration of the farm bill.
According to the committee, HR 5972, the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act will be considered this week and HR 5973, the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration and Related Agencies Appropriations Act (the agriculture appropriations bill), will not be on the schedule.
The House Agriculture Committee markup of the farm bill remains scheduled for July 11. Chairman Frank Lucas (R-Okla.) has stated that House consideration of the agriculture appropriations bill will not interfere with the committee’s scheduled markup of the farm bill.
