Texas AgriLife Extension’s Wichita County Extension Horticulture Committee will host two days of training for anyone interested in obtaining their commercial, non-commercial or private pesticide applicator licenses Nov. 27-28 in Wichita Falls.
Training for the Texas Department of Agriculture’s (TDA) commercial and non-commercial applicator licenses will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 27 in Wichita County’s Extension office on the second floor of the Wichita County Courthouse Annex.
The training will focus on laws and regulations, the general test and either the ornamental and turf test or the right-of-way pest control test.
Cost is $125 and includes the study guides for each of the TDA’s tests and lunch.
Training for the private applicator license will begin at 8 a.m. on Nov. 28. The test will be held immediately after. The cost of the test is $50 and includes the study materials.

To receive a commercial or non-commercial applicator license, an individual must complete the general exam, the laws and regulations exam and a subject area exam.
Testing for all applicator licenses will begin at 9 a.m. Nov. 28. Pre-registration is required with the TDA by calling (214) 631-0265.
Subject area exams cost $24 each. Registration is payable by check or money order. The general laws and regulation exams are free.
