The Agriculture Council of America (ACA) has announced the theme of this year’s National Ag Day Essay Contest. High school students, grades 9-12, are now eligible to submit an original, 450-word essay or two-minute video essay about the importance of agriculture focusing on the theme “American Agriculture: Nourishing Opportunities.”
ACA asks teachers and parents to encourage student participation in the annual contest.
The national essay winner will receive a $1,000 prize and a round-trip ticket to Washington D.C. for the Celebration of Ag Dinner March 19. The winner will have the opportunity to read the winning essay and join others in a festive ag celebration.
The video essay contest winner will also receive a $1,000 prize. His/her video will be shown at the dinner.
Essays are due by Feb. 1.
