Over 6,000 Farm Bureau members from across the nation will head to Nashville, Tenn. later this week for the American Farm Bureau Federation’s 94th annual meeting.
AFBF President Bob Stallman says the goal of the meeting is to provide Farm Bureau members the opportunity to network, discuss the issues, gather information and listen to interesting speakers.
Delegates from each of the states, including Texas, will also discuss policy and organizational decisions pertaining to the future of the Farm Bureau.
“I’m sure we’ll have some discussion of renewable fuels and the fuel verses feed issue. We’ll probably have discussion about tax issues given what has just happened with Congress. Regulatory issues will always be high on the agenda. Given the possibility this time that we may actually have significant movement in the U.S. Congress on the issue, immigration reform and how we have an adequate guest worker program will probably be another important topic,” Stallman said.
The annual meeting will be held Jan. 13-16.
