With early voting for the Nov. 5 election only two weeks away, the Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) is doing its part to encourage voters to head to the polls and vote for Proposition 6. TFB has launched a new page on its website, TexasFarmBureau.org
, to help Texans learn more about the proposition and what it will do for the state if passed by voters.
The site includes news clips about the proposition, stories written by TFB staff and radio stories about Prop 6, the drought and the current water situation in the Lone Star State.
The site can be found at www.TexasFarmBureau.org/Prop6
Proposition 6 is a constitutional amendment that, if passed by voters in November, will transfer $2 billion from the state's Rainy Day Fund into two specialized funds dedicated to funding water projects listed on the state water plan. The funds are designed to replenish themselves and help pay for new projects as other projects are completed and paid off. Additional information about the process, along with early voting dates, can be found on the website.
The last day to register to vote to participate in the election is Monday, Oct. 7.
